The Project

Mission

• Bring unity to the La Grange area through the power of art.

Vision

• Partner with local and diverse La Grange area community groups/organizations, artists and individuals of all ages and skillsets.
• Gain community participation in sponsored artistic projects to build relationships through collaborative art project and engagement activities.
• The committee and all event participants will use a consultative process: listen, evaluate, decide and support decision.

The Project

• Create mosaic art for the exterior walls of the Community Center at 200 South Washington Ave (La Grange) as a gift to the Park District of La Grange.
• Create community connections through planning, designing, installation workshops and the project unveiling.
• Invite broad audience to Installation Workshops (tile laying) through our connections with schools, churches and other civic organizations.
• Project will culminate in an Unveiling Celebration at the Community Center which will promote diverse culture (including artists, musicians and dancers), provide refreshments and opportunity for sponsors to promote their organizations.
• Work with Green Star Movement (see ‘Green Star Movement’ tab) to facilitate project implementation.
