Diversity Days 2023 theme: The Importance of Belonging

Friday, Sept. 8, 5:30 PM, at La Grange Public Library:
Screening and Discussion of the multi-award-winning film TILL, the true story of Mamie Till-Mobley’s relentless pursuit of justice for her 14-year-old son, Emmett Till, whose tragic death in 1955 sparked the Civil Rights Movement.

CDG’s 32nd Annual Race Unity Rally at La Grange Village Hall

America continues to struggle with troubling racial issues. Our rally is an annual reminder that we all need to recognize and appreciate our diversity and work together to make our community a better place for everyone. This year’s event will feature these presentations:

  • Community leaders on creating a sense of belonging for their constituents
  • LTHS students on the importance of belonging at school
  • Minnie Carr Service Award to Dr. Bessie Boyd
  • Lifetime Diversity Achievement Award to Michael Thomas
  • Youth Diversity Essays
  • The Caring Place Youth Choir
  • Introduction of New La Grange Police Chief Timothy Griffin, Ph.D.
  • La Grange Unity Proclamation by Village President Mark Kuchler
