The highlight of CDG's annual Diversity Days, The Race Unity Rally is an annual reminder to our community that we
all need to work together to recognize and appreciate our diversity. Today, when many people--and especially people of color--have been devastated by the effects of the “great recession,” CDG reminds everyone that there are still many in our community who feel marginalized, whether because of racism, poverty or a tradition of isolation.
Our hope is that by our example of appreciating diversity, and our work to “build a caring community” that includes those so often marginalized in our society, we can help make our society work better for everyone.

Academy Award and Golden Globe winner "The Hurricane" tells the story of middle-weight boxer Rubin "Hurricane" Carter (Denzel Washington) who faces a wrongful conviction and 20 years in prison for a triple murder. In a parallel plot, a disadvantaged youth becomes interested in Carter's life after reading his autobiography.
After the movie, attendees will enjoy a thought-provoking discussion of the issues raised and lessons learned from it.
